I launched Tiger Rock after serving as number two at Steamboat Capital Partners in New York, an equity long and short hedge fund launched in 2012. My goal is to outperform the S and P 500, consistently and over a multi year time horizon. We invest in excellent businesses with strong long term growth prospects, along with stocks that are temporarily mispriced due to unrelated macro sentiment, short term non fundamental earnings misses, and overblown legal, political or regulatory risk.
I am tired of seeing corporate professionals miss out on upside by trying to do it themselves with underperforming apps or busy financial advisors that are stretched thin managing 100 different portfolios. This is direct access to a hedge fund manager with an active investment strategy.
Average financial advisor returns: 6-8 percent per year (after their 1-2 percent fees). You are paying them to buy index funds you could buy yourself.
You are paying 1-2 percent AUM fees every year for a diversified portfolio that is just a collection of ETFs. That is $10,000 to $20,000 per year on a $1M portfolio.
Your advisor manages 100 plus clients and never picks up the phone. You get quarterly reports and generic advice, but no real relationship or personalized strategy.
There is a better way.
We accept 401(k) rollovers and taxable investments. If you have an old 401(k) sitting at Fidelity earning nothing, we can roll it over in 1 to 2 weeks. No $5M minimums like traditional hedge funds.
Active management, concentrated positions, downside protection. We use options strategies to generate income and protect against market crashes. Not just index funds like your financial advisor.
You work directly with the fund manager (Brendan Burns, JD-MBA). Not a junior advisor managing 100 other clients. You get quarterly calls, monthly updates, and a real relationship.
Our streamlined process gets you invested in 1 to 2 weeks.
2 minutes: Fill out our short form to confirm you are an accredited investor, $200K plus income or $1M plus net worth. We will send you our investment overview and performance summary within 24 hours.
30 minutes: Schedule a call with Brendan to discuss your goals and our strategy. Ask any questions about the fund, fees, and investment process. No sales pressure.
1 to 2 weeks: Complete onboarding paperwork. We handle 401(k) rollovers with Equity Trust Company, a third party custodian. You will receive monthly updates and quarterly performance reports.
$100K. We accept 401(k) rollovers, IRA transfers, and taxable investments. Most of our investors roll over old 401(k)s from previous employers.
2 percent annual management fee plus 20 percent performance fee only on profits above high water mark. No hidden fees. Compare this to financial advisors who charge 1 to 2 percent and still underperform.
Your funds are held at Equity Trust Company, a third party custodian. Tiger Rock Capital serves accredited investors. We never have direct access to your money. All investments go through the custodian.
Yes. This is actually our most common investor. We work with Equity Trust Company to handle 401(k) rollovers from previous employers. The process takes 1 to 2 weeks and we handle all the paperwork.
We are a long and short equity fund focused on quality businesses at reasonable valuations. We use options strategies for downside protection and income generation. Think concentrated positions in ASML, Taiwan Semiconductor, MercadoLibre, UnitedHealth, not the same mega cap tech everyone else owns.
Quarterly redemptions with 30 days notice. We are not a lock up fund. You can get your money out if you need it.
You qualify if you earn $200K plus per year individually or $300K plus jointly with spouse, or have $1M plus net worth excluding primary residence. Most corporate employees in director plus roles qualify.
